Lower Burrell
Alfred I. Fantuzzo Sr., 93, of Lower Burrell, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in his home. He was born June 9, 1915, in Mud Lick, Armstrong County, and had lived in Lower Burrell the past 60 years. An aluminum worker, he worked in the cooking utensil department and later in quality control for Alcoa in New Kensington retiring with 33 years of service. He had previously worked in the coal mines. Mr. Fantuzzo was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell, and enjoyed music, playing the guitar, banjo, mandolin and piano. He was also a sports fan of the Pirates and Steelers and especially enjoyed baseball and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Patricia S. Zattolo Fantuzzo; children, Patricia Hoffman, of San Diego, Calif., Marie Wolfe, of Hanover Park, Ill., Carlo Fantuzzo, of Vandergrift, Joseph Fantuzzo, at home, Alfred (Chris) Fantuzzo Jr., of Lower Burrell, Sylvia (William) Bain, of Monroeville, Regina (Tim) Kuczinski, of Holiday Park, and Nina Fantuzzo, at home; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Fantuzzo, of Brackenridge; and a sister, Mary Frantz, of Pennsylvania. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Wendy Howarth; three brothers, Vincent, Samuel and Charles Fantuzzo; and a sister, Venera Zaffuto. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder Street, Lower Burrell. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Margaret Mary Church, Lower Burrell. Burial will follow in Greenwood Mausoleum, Lower Burrell.
