He lived first in Nottingham, NH, then in Deerfield. He was in Colrain, MA during the French and Indian War. He married Ann Thompson. They lived and had their children in Colrain.
John was a signer of a letter from the town of Colrain that was sent to Boston in support of the revolution.
In the late 1787, after Shays Rebellion, the family moved to the areas of Hartford and Kingsbury, Washington County, NY. John held several town positions in Kingsbury.

The day in Aug for John was not readable on our visit. It has been previously read as 1 Aug 1810 and as 7 Aug 1810. John's age has been has been read as 82 and 89. We read 82 and I believe that is probably correct.
We read Ann's age as 70, but it has previously been read as 72 and 79. After closely studying our photo I can't determine which might be correct.
