Peter Emmanuel was the son of Heinrich Jakob and Katharina Elisabeth Maria Barbara Traxel Eisenbraun and was born in Friedenthal, Crimea. He was the eleventh of twelve children having six sisters and five brothers. He was married three times - first to Maria Eisenbraun a distant cousin on February 24, 1881 in Zurichtal, Crimea; second marriage to ? Nachtigal who died within six months of their marriage suffering from tuberculosis; third to Elisabeth Margaretha Traxel Moser on November 6, 1896.
Peter and Maria had the following children Immanuel, Heinrich Jakob, Gustav, Martin P, Albert, Johannes, Peter, Louise, Rosina and Herbert. Of these ten children only Heinrich Jakob, Gustav, Martin P, Albert and Herbert lived to travel to the United States with there father and step-mother Elisabeth.
Peter and Elisabeth had the following children Helen, Alexander, Emma, Edward, Melita, Emelia and Theodore. Helen, Alexander, Emma, Edward and Melita were all born in Russia with Edward dieing before the family left for the United States.
Arriving in the United States in 1905 the family first settled in Tripp leaving there in 1909 when they moved to their new home near Creighton where he lived until his death. He was survived by his wife Elisabeth, sons Heinrich Jakob, Gustav, Martin P, Albert, Herbert, Alexander and Theodore; daughters Emma, Melita and Emelia.
