Aged 72 years. Throughout his entire business career, Mr. Bennett had been a pilot on the Delaware river and bay for a period of more than a half a century. His father, William Bennett, was also a pilot on the Delaware and throughout his life maintained his residence in Cape May. On February 12, 1855, he married Henrietta Hand, daughter of Recompense Hand who was another pilot on the Delaware river.
