VENERABLE WOMAN DIES IN COLUMBIA
Mrs. L. A. Davenport Passes at Age of Seventy-five Years
Mrs. L. Adella Davenport died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. T. Schultz, 2203 Park Street, yesterday morning at 2:15 o'clock at the age of 75 years.
Mrs. Davenport had been living on Columbia about 14 months, coming here from Whitmire. Up until three weeks ago with her son, A. W. Davenport at 2409 Park Street, but for the last three weeks had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Schultz. She had been in ill health since the spring.
Mrs. Davenport lived to have the fullness of life and to go out at its ebb and she leaves a number of sorrowing friends and relatives to mourn her absence. She is survived by the following children: A. W. Davenport, Mrs. C. T. Schultz and Mrs. Mary Poag of Columbia, Mrs. E. A. Dobbins of ______, and Mrs. Maggie Denson of Whitmire.
The body will be taken to Newberry today and the funeral services will be held at the Bush River Baptist church, out from Newberry. Interment will follow in the churchyard.
