Joan was my first cousin. I remember her being a good cook and a very good seamstress. When I was getting married, my bridesmaids dresses didn't fit right and the night before my wedding, she had altered everyone of them. Her mother was my mom's older sister and after her mom died she stayed in close contact with my mom until my mom passed away. They always had long talks and my mom was always glad to hear from her.
