The story of Jenkins life in Wales & Amercia is still being researched. Catherine Morton my mother in-law found that her 2nd Grt. Grandfather was born to a Mr. & Mrs. Humphries at Burton Ferry, Wales. She wrote that Mr. Humphries the Sr. had died (his death date is unknown) left a wife with children; A son named *Jenkins (our ancestor) and his siblings. The mother had later remarried to a Mr.(?) Bowen. Now Jenkins and his siblings was allowed to take their step fathers surname Bowen. But, Mr. Bowen the Sr. did not adopt the children. Our 3rd great grandpa Jenkins Wm. Bowen had studied in Wales to be a Baptist minister but later in America was a steamfitter for a unknown company. Married in 1881 to Anna Davies of Abaraman (Abarare) Wales. From Anns death Cerificate, we find she was the daughter of William Davies and Elizabeth Herris ( or Harris). Jenkins Sr. and wife Ann both came to America from Wales by way of England "but" we only find on record that Jenkins became an American in the State of Illinois, County of La Salle on the 22nd of Oct. in 1883. They had 7 children: Sarah Jane, Mary Ann, William, *Catherine, Elizabeth, Jenkin C. Jr. and John E. Bowen.

Ref:, Research from family records of Catherine Bowen's great grandaughter Mrs. Catherine C. (Cooper) Morton. 2nd great son and daughter in-law JICM.
