Mary Brislin was born in Ahaddrah, county of Donegal, Ireland, Oct 15, 1830.
She came to America with her parents when about 15 years old. At the age of 17 she was married to Neil Brishin (Brislin) who died four years later. Of this union two sons were born, Neil, who died in infancy and John who died in 1895.
In 1857 she married Edward McFadden, in Summit Hill, Penn. To this union nine children were born, Mary of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Frank Bartley of Rolla. N. Dak., Hugh of Wallace, Idaho, Mrs. N. LaFrance of Hamilton, Mont., Mrs. Wm. Smith of Rolla, N. Dak., Mrs. Elmer Wells of Grand Forks, B.C., Daniel of Mirror Landing. Alta., Timothy of Butte, Mont., and Mrs. P.E. LaFrance of Rolla, N.Dak. All of whom together with forth-six grand children and five great grand children are left to mourn her loss.
She was a devout member of the Catholic church all her life, a true and affectionate wife, a kind and loving mother, and may she rest in peace.
