PANHANDLE - Junior Sams, 41, died Tuesday, June 23, at the Medical City Hospital in Dallas.

Funeral services were held at 11a.m. today at First United Methodist Church of Panhandle with the Rev. Doug Harvey, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Interment was in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Mr. Sams was born in Borger and had been a lifetime resident of Panhandle.

He married Christy Lain on Jan. 8, 1977 in Panhandle. He was a stillman for Phillips Petroleum Co. He was very active in sports in Panhandle.

Survivors include his wife, Christy of the home; one son, Aaron Sams of Canyon; one daughter, Alyson Sams of the home; one brother, John Neely of Hedley; and one sister, Patricia Gray of Amarillo.

Casket bearers were David Biggs, Leonard Neusch, Larry Augustson, Kevin Brinkley, Mark Clancy and Kenny Eddleman. Honorary casket bearers were fellow workers of Phillips Petroleum Co.

The family will be staying at 1106 Charles in Panhandle.
