Annie Charlotte Bailey McVeigh, 88, died Tuesday (Jan. 27, 2009) at Waycross Health and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Brunswick but was living in Waycross since 1959. She was the widow of W.J. "Bill" McVeigh Jr. and was the daughter of Thelma and Otis Bailey, of Brunswick.

Also preceding her in death were two sons, William J. McVeigh III and Curtis W. McVeigh Sr.; a grandson, Clyde J. McVeigh; three brothers, Otis Bailey Jr., Villiard Bailey and Hoover Bailey; and a nephew, Danny Bailey.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was former president of the Waycross Exchangettes Club. She was an active supporter of Habitat for Humanity
and the Georgia Sheriff's Association Association.

Survivors include a grandson, Curtis W. McVeigh Jr. (wife Stephanie), of Waycross; two great-grandsons, Curtis W. McVeigh III and Shawn William McVeigh, both of Waycross; two nephews, Gary and Herbert Bailey, of Brunswick; and a niece, Debbie Bailey, of Brunswick.

Agraveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Music Funeral Home today from 6 until 8 p.m.

Arrangements are with Music Funeral Home.
