The Hearn family moved from Pike County, ALabama first to Union Parish, LA where William married Nancy Rebecca Beasley on Jan. 17, 1868. The 1860 Census shows William living in the household of his parents, Marion PO, Union Parish, LA. 1870 Census has William and Nancy in Ward 2, Union Parish, LA. living adjacent to her Toler relatives. By 1880 they had followed the rest of the Hearn family to Sebastian County, AR, Center Twp (Greenwood area). 1880 Census shows them living next door to his parents (on what is now Deerfield Loop) with 3 oldest living children (Will, Nettie and Nannie). 1900 Census they are still in the Greenwood area with two youngest children, Emma (who died before 1910) and John (my Grandfather). By 1910 Census, William and Nancy were living at what is now 609 E 2nd Street in Hartford, Sebastian Co., Arkansas. 1920 Census shows them in same house with son William J and his wife, Ola.

NOTE: VA stone was set in 1996 after a thorough search by Hartford Cemetery Association. My father had long said his grandfather was buried next to dad's uncle, Will J Hearn, however there was no stone at that site. Checking with Hartford Memorial Cemetery Association I found Wm H Hearn had purchased said plot when his wife died. A representative of the cemetery used a welding rod to determine that, yes, the ground had been disturbed and indeed someone was buried on said lot. I therefore got permission from the Cemetery Assn. to order a VA stone for placement on the grave.

NOTE 2: Justin Wayne Morgan, FAG memorial #21531048, was the Captain of the Re-enactment group that presided over the ceremony. A nice young man who was killed just five years later in a coal mining accident. Please see his memorial and consider leaving a flower.
