CHARLESTON — Manuel Chastain, 74, of Charleston died Monday, July 5, 1999, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. Son of Lawrence Chastain and Aline Woodruff.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Freewill Baptist Church of Charleston with graveside service at 3 p.m. Thursday at Wetumka City Cemetery in Wetumka City, Okla., under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.

He is survived by his wife Loise (McCasland); three daughters, Darla Bangs of Charleston, Jenny Strickland of Pittsburgh, Kan. and Linda White of McAlester, Okla.; one sister, Virginia Williams of Greenwood; three brothers, John and Kenneth, both of Wetumka and Jimmy of Orville, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
