John Dover and Oscar Long, who were left with the body had great difficulty in keeping warm and very little to eat during their long vigil on top of the mountain. The rescue party, composed of Hix and Robert McClure, experienced much difficulty in removing the body. It was brought down the mountain on a stretcher and transferred to a wagon. In crossing a stream, the wagon was icebound and the body was again carried by stretcher to Pruden's tan yard, where Monday night was spent and the trip to Dalton resumed by car this morning.
