Myrtle Marie Thomas Morgan Hasty, 88, passed away in a local health care on Sept. 25, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jessie Durham Thomas and Wallace F. Thomas; her husbands: Martin Morgan and Jim Hasty; and one sister, Ann Hammond.

She was a well known seamstress for Parks-Belk, Profits, and many local residents.

She was an avid naturalist, enjoyed plants, loved music and was a song writer.

Survivors include her daughters: Donna Ellis and her husband, Robert, of Ringgold, Ga., and Hilda Penland and her husband, Bill, of Harrison; son, Douglas Morgan and his wife, Brenda Wyatt, of Cleveland; sisters: Griselda Trammel and Esma Ramerez, both of Trion, Ga; brothers: Wallace Thomas and his wife, Nancy, and Durham Thomas, both of Trion, Ga; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be conducted 1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Sammy Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery in Trion Ga.

The family will receive friends 6 until 9 p.m., Monday at the funeral homes.
