GALLATIN, TENN. -- R. T. (Tom) Campbell, 82, of 656 West Main St., died February 26, 1965, at his home after a 5-year illness.
Born near Hohenwald, August 26, 1882, he was a son of Francis and Medora Downey Campbell. He was a retired employe of Carnegie Illinois Steel in Canton, Ohio and was a well-known painter and paper hanger. He resided at New Philadelphia, Ohio 40 years before moving here to live with a daughter. His wife, the former Nora Daniel, died October 20, 1959.
He was a member of the Nashville Road Church of Christ where services were held March 1, conducted by Thomas L. Campbell and J. B. Gaither, 10:30 a.m. Burial Downey Cemetery in Hohenwald.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. J. B. (Mary) Gaither, Gallatin; Mrs. H. R. (Lucille) Seloover, Azusa, Calif.; three sons: Charles L., San Bernardino, Calif.; Thomas L., of Louisville, Ky.; and Paul E., New Philadelphia, Ohio; two sisters: Mrs. Florence Taylor, Trenton; and Mattie Higgins, Brewton, Ala.; two brothers: Charles of New Philadelphia, O.; and Grady, Detroit, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
