She was born Leona Waller in 1936 to Robert E. Lee Waller Sr. and Migonette L. Waller in Mount Vernon (Posey), Indiana. She was one of eight children; sisters, Martha Waller, Jeanette (Waller) Dimmitt, Kathleen Augusta (Waller) Steward, and Eva Beatrice Waller, brothers; Calvin Waller, William Edmond Waller, and Robert E. Lee Waller Jr. The Lord called Leona home in 1962 in Muncie, Indiana and was brought home to be laid to eternal rest with her family in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Mount Vernon (Posey), Indiana.
