Raymond K. Scribner, 86, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2008.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Raymond was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Fort Worth. He graduated from North Side High School, where he was a quarterback and that year they won all district. He was a Merchant Marine. Raymond worked for the railroad for a short time, was an independent contractor for several years, and then taught building trades at Brewer High School.
Raymond was a member of North Fort Worth Baptist Church for over 50 years and attended First Baptist Church of Saginaw for the past 3 1/2 years.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Imogene Elsberry Scribner; son, Tommy Scribner; and sister, Dorothy Cyr.
Survivors: Wife, Dora Scribner; daughter, Nancy Young of San Angelo; son, Donald Scribner and wife, Renee, of Spokane, Wash.; stepson, Randy Williams and wife, Carolyn; grandchildren, Kristy McGaughey, Rachel Young, Lindsey Scribner, Donald Scribner Jr., Clayton Scribner, Sam Scribner, Bill Scribner. Brett Williams and Vanessa Klekar; Bill and Sam's mother, Beverly Genovese; sister, Pat Lowe; and several nieces and nephews.
