Funeral Services held at Methodist Church in Prairie Hill
Walter Gaffron, who had been in ill health for several years, died at his home in Salisbury last Thursday. He had been critically ill for about a month prior to his death.
Mr. Gaffron was the eldest son of William Fredric & Margaurite Gaffron & was born in St. Louis on February 18, 1869.
In 1892 he was married to the former Miss Mary Louise Carter & they were the parents of seven children. His wife & three children, Emma, Emmett & Fred, preceded him in death. Surviving are Henry, Glen & Millard Gaffron of Decatur, Ill. & Margaret of Kansas City, Kansas.
He was married to Miss Nettie Eberhardt on September 10, 1919 & they were the parents of a son, Earl Gaffron, who is now residing in Suisun City, Calif.
In early life he joined the Baptist Church.
Besides his wife & five children, Mr. Gaffron is survived by 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Gaffron of St. Joseph; two sisters, Mrs. Paul Lougacre of Omaha, Nebr. & Mrs. Minnie Schmalberg of Lawrence, Kansas; & many other relatives.
The Rev. L.B. Owens conducted the services which were held at the Methodist Church in Prairie Hill at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon.
Burial was in Old Prairie Hill Cemetery.
