Rev. Charles Lewis McComb was born May 27, 1821 in Knox county Tennesse. His parents: James William McComb and Elizabeth "betsy " Lewis. He married three time's and had 13 children.He's first wife was Sarah"sallie"Vann whom died Mar 5 1855.She was his second cousin.They had 8 children together.The last one Oct 9 1854 who was our GGRandfather.Her parents where Daniel Vann and Mary Polly McComb. Charles second wife was Sarah Ann Elizabeth Cooper of Kentucky.They were married Oct 23 1855 in Bates County Mo.She died 6 Months later on may 29 1856. Family notes say she was buried 2 miles North Of the family farm.No children where born to this marriage.Charles Thrid wife was Mary Jane Radford.They married on Feb 1 1859 in Bates County Mo.She was born on Oct 6,1833 in Kentucky.Her parent were William Layton Radford and Jane R. Hicks of Virginia. Charles and Mary were the parents of 8 children before her death in Oct 16, 1882.Rev. Charles Lewis was the Pastor of 2 churches in Bates County Antioch church and Salem church. He was know as the "Marrying Parson" because he married more people then any other Minister around. (contrib# 47459171)
