Florence Dainty, 101, of Pittsburg, died at 3:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at the Medicalodge South of Pittsburg. She was born Sept. 18, 1904, in Morgan Camp, to William and Lottie (Redmond) Short. She had been a lifelong resident of the area.
On Oct. 20, 1944, she married George Dainty in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2004.
She worked on the farm and as a homemaker.
She was a member of the Women's Christian Association and A.A.R.P.
Survivors include one daughter, Vivian Tretbar of Pittsburg; three granddaughters; three step-daughters; one step-son; several great and great-great grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Raymond Dainty; two daughters, Wilma Wright and Rose Marie Lane; two sisters; one brother; and one grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Carter conducting the service. Burial will follow into Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway.
