East Prairie - Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the Shelby Funeral Home for Mrs. Ona Elizabeth Thomasson of East Prairie, who died at a hospital in Rochelle, Ill. Burial was in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomasson was visiting a son, Samuel D. Thomasson at Rochelle, at the time of her death.
Born Jan. 15, 1888, at Hornersville, Mrs. Thomasson was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sempkins.
In 1919, she was married to Samuel DeWitt Thomasson. He died Oct. 6, 1951.
Mrs. Thomasson lived in Mississippi County most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert Griggs; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Francis Bucher; three sons, Samuel D. Thomasson, Donald D. Thomasson and Floyd H. Thomasson; a stepson, Urel Thomasson; a sister, Mrs. Pearl McMahon and a brother, Ben H. Simpkins; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
