Mrs. Joan Rivers Melton, age 69, died Thursday, August 21, 2008. Funeral service 2 P.M. Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Oakland Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Melton was born March 16, 1939 in Chesterfield, S.C. a daughter of the late Jack O. Rivers & Doris Odom Rivers. She was a former employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing. Mrs. Melton was a member of the WOW Lodge 516 and Oakland Baptist Church. Joan was married to the late Rev. Floyd Melton Jr. and was preceded in death by a son Ricky Melton and a brother John Rivers.
