Mr. Glatfelter was born in York. He was the son of Victor and Sarah Runk Glatfelter Boyer.
He was employed in the Finishing Department of Stone Container Corporation; before retiring in 1981, after more than 33 years of service. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, serving with the Coastal Artillery in Hawaii and was the recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal. He was a life member of Viking Athletic Association; Victory Athletic Association; Vigilent Fire Company and it's Social Club, and the West York Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
Mr. Glatfelter was the father of Stephen A. Glatfelter. He was the brother of Charles Runk.
The funeral service was officiated by Rev. Lawrence Coakley of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
