Died, at the home of her son George, in the town of York, on the 5th inst., Mrs. Cathrine Nagel, aged 93 years, 9 months and 4 days. The deceased was born, grew up to womanhood and was married in Holland. The issue of her said marriage was five children, three of them now living in this county, all of them having children and grand children, also living here. One of the deceased's children died in Holland, the other in York, this county. The three children who survive her are Aaron J. Nagel of Bristol; Mrs. D. J. Ruesink and George Nagel of York. She came with her husband and four children to this country in 1855, stopping in Wisconsin one year, and then came to Minnesota. Her husband died about 35 years ago and she has been living with her youngest son, George ever since. The funeral rites were held at the home of her son where she died, on the 8th inst. The services were conducted by Rev. Palmer of Etna, assisted by Rev. Osterhoff of Greenleafton, who spoke in the Holland language. Rev. Link of Cherry Grove, and Rev. Schonleven of Racine, Minn., were also present. The attendance at the funeral was very large. Deceased was a noble type of grand womanhood, a loving and devoted wife, a kind and affectionate mother and a good neighbor, who always had a pleasant smile and kind words for old and young and was always ready and willing to assist any one in time of need. Her physical and mental faculties were exceptionally good. The neighbors will miss the familiar figure and cheerful greetings of their old friend. SHe was queenly in every sense of the word and would never, ever if she had the power, ever attempted to have taken from others what did not legally and morally belong to her, as have other so-called titled and fullsome flatter queens have tried to do in the land of the gallant Boers, where perchance lie murdered some of the distant relatives of our dead friend, Cathrine Nagel.
