James Allen the sonn of Rogger Allen was borne the 24th of 4th month 1657
The youngest child of my ancestors, ROGER & MARY (NASH) ALLING, he graduated from Harvard College in 1679 and was called from Boston to the church at Salisbury, Mass. in 1682 where he was their third minister until his death. He was ordained May 4, 1697.

He married Elizabeth Cotton, daughter of John & Sarah (Rossiter) Cotton. His widow married second, Rev. Caleb Cushing on March 14, 1699, the successor to Rev. James Alling to the pulpit of the Salisbury church.

"Early Vital Records of Salisbury" Allin, James, Rev. [3d minister in Salisbury, called from Boston] died March 3, 1695-6 in his 37th year and 8th year of his ministry.
