The Iberia Sentinel, December 1916

Mrs. Nancy J. Hill was born Sept 4, 1840, died Dec 29, 1916, in Iberia at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wes Dickerson, with whom she had been making her home for some time.
The deceased was the mother of seven children, all of whom are living except a daughter who died when quite young. Her daughters are Mrs. Mary Hickman and Mrs. Anna Dickerson, her sons, John, Lewis, Henry and Charles. Her two daughters and two of her sons, Henry and Charles, were at her bedside when the messenger death came. Her sister, Mrs. Lucy Keeling of Eureka Springs, Ark., was also present. Another sister, Mrs. Sarah George of Ramonville, Mo., arrived Sunday morning after her death. Her other sister, Mrs. George Payne of Richland was here during her sickness but was absent when she died.
Mrs. Hill had for many years been a truly and devoted member of the Baptist Church. At all times she held the love and respect of all her acquaintance. She was willing and anxious to aid the suffering, cheer the desponding, sustain the weak and to throw over the frailties of our race and mantle of Christian charity, and when death came in its peaceful way to her, the Christian hope made her farewell to her earthly home only a happy departure.
Short funeral services were held at the Dickerson home Sunday morning, Rev. Geo. W. Rob-. balance of article missing
