Funeral for Franklin "Buddy" Beggs 62 of Winder,Ga.formerly of Somerville,will be Monday at 1pm at Peck Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery with full military service.The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday night from 6 to 8.
Mr.Beggs died Thursday,Sept 19,2002 at Athens Regional Hospital,Athens Ga.He was born July 13,1940 in Morgan County Alabama to James Beggs and Willie Mae Vest Beggs.
He was retired from the U.S. Army as a major,where he served in the Vietnam War as a pilot.
He was the father of the late Mark Todd Beggs.
Survivors include his wife Sherry Stanley Beggs of Winder,Ga;two sons,Daniel Beggs of Rosswell,Ga.,James Beggs and Melvin Beggs both of Somerville,Al.One sister June Spurlin of Somerville,Al and Two grandchildren.
Military officers will be pallbearers.
