Lula "Irene" Tryon
Lula "Irene" Tryon was born Oct. 16, 1922 to Sam and Lydia (Baker) Powers in Joy Coy. She was the youngest of four children, including two brothers, Frank Powers and Clarence Powers, and a sister, Beulah McCullaugh.
She was married Aug. 25, 1958 to Elmer J. Tryon. They had two children, Mike and Lynn.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Dan) Bingham; son, Mike (Annie) Tryon; granddaughters Teresa Bingham, of Laramie, Wyo., Christina (Jordan) Steele, of Springfield, Mo., Tara Tryon, of Riverside, Calif., and a foster granddaughter, Krissy (Lian) Allen, of Waxahachie, Texas; grandsons Nils, Ivan, Odin and Hans, and foster great-grandson, Lavin Allen, and sister Beulah McCullaugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer J. Tryon and brothers Frank Powers and Clarence Powers.
A funeral was Friday, July 11, 2008 at the Assembly of God Church with Dave Ross officiating. Music selections were "Amazing Grace," "In the Garden," and "Peace in the Valley." Pallbearers were Bill Bingham, Sr., Jim Nicoletto, Rob Syverston, Nick Syverston, Hans Cartin and Henry Durkop. Interment followed in the Craig Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice in care of Grant Mortuary.
