RIDGE SPRING - Avery Oscar Hightower, 65, a businessman, died Tuesday in a Charleston hospital.
Born in Asheville, N.C., he was a son of the late Vollie Augustus Hightower and Susie Anna Robinson Hightower.
Mr. Hightower was owner and operator of Hightower Manufacturing Co.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith Livingston Hightower; a daughter, Mrs. Gulie H. Kirby of Alamo, Tex.; a son, Ronald A. Hightower of the Isle of Palms; a brother, John H. Hightower of Thomasville, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Molly Flanagan of High Point, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Ridge Spring with burial in Butler Church Cemetery in Saluda.
Cumbee Funeral Home is in charge.
