Obituary:
Walter R. "Buck" Lokey, 69, independent oil and gas lease broker died in a local hospital today. He lived at 320 N. Morningside Drive.
Lokey came to Corpus Christi 28 years ago and for the past 26 years had been an independent oil and gas lease broker. For several years his offices had been in the Wilson Building.
With his son, Jack D. Lokey, he was a negotiator for the Wesley Seale Dam reservoir land.
Lokey was an Air Force lieutenant in World War I. He was awarded the Silver Star. During World War II, he served on the draft board in Corpus Christi. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marian; a son, Jack D. Lokey, both of Corpus Christi; a sister, Mrs. Preston Tom of Victoria, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be tomorrow in Cage-Mills Chapel with the Rev. A. Arnott Ward, associate minister of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Runge cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donation be made to the memorial fund of First Presbyterian Church.
