He was born September 25, 1929, in McHenry, to Herman and Ida (Hensel) Feltz. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of sergeant first class. He worked for the City of Harvard as the Head of Sanitation until his retirement. George was active in the Harvard Moose Lodge and the Harvard Sportsman's Club. He also enjoyed dancing, fishing and hunting. He passed away on September 20, 2008, at Mercy Harvard Hospital. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving partner, Ruth Gilman Feltz, who resided with him in Genoa for many years before moving to Harvard; four brothers, Al, Bill, Walter and Herman; and four sisters, Anna Feltz, Emma Burns, Marie Morris and Elsie Pearson.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, until the 11 a.m. service at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard. The Rev. Jeff Borgerson will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Harvard.
