I first met Joe when he worked at Neil's Restaurant. He made the best pina colada I ever had. He was a good singer and would get up with the band and sing once in awhile.
When he owned the Shamrock Inn, it was the place to go to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. He had entertainment all day and really good Irish stew. My friend Delores and I would get to the Shamrock by 2:oo in the afternoon on St. Patricks Day and save a big table for all our friends for when they got off work and we would party for hours. If you didn't get there early you couldn't get a table, it was standing room only by evening. I would request a song and he would sing it for me. It was "My Wild Irish Rose". It has been quite a few years since those good times, but I'll always remember Joe Figley.
