Fremont Willard Nuckolls, 73, who operated the Nuckolls General Store in
Mazie for 15 years before moving to Wagoner, was killed in a wreck Sunday,
April 15, 1973, on Highway 69. Mr. Nuckolls was fatally injured when an
ambulance went out of control and s truck his car.
Prior to operating the grocery store at Mazie, Mr. Nuckolls farmed and
worked at Spartan Aircraft in Tulsa for 14 years. He was a member of the
Assembly of God church. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the
Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wagoner with Rev. Royce Hutson presiding.
Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery under direction of Hersman Funeral Home.
Survivors besides his wife, Izola, include one daughter, Mrs. Lydia Maye
Doye of Tulsa; one brother, Ercile of Tulsa and five grandchildren.
