Ethel B Spurlin Wells, 83, Pennyrile Manor Nursing Home, died there today after a long illness.
Services will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Henninger Funeral Home with the Rev. E.D. Helton officiating. Burial will be in Johnson's Chapel Cemetery in Christian County. Visitation will be from 5 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.
A Christian County native, she was born March 25, 1896, the daughter of William and Flora Hurt Spurlin. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wells was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher C Wells, in 1961, and by a son, Jewell Wells, in 1972.
Survivors include three sons, William, Frank, and Leland Wells, and two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Frances) Brown and Mary Wells Combs, all of the city; two brothers, Herschel of Christian County, and Johnny Spurlin, this city; one sister, Mrs. Truman (Jennie) McKnight, this city; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
