Lucille Goodwin, 82, went home to be with the Lord on April 4, 2004, at Hospice Care Center.
Born in Evergreen, Ala., she had been a resident in this community for 51 years. She was a former member of New Trinity Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, she is survived by son, Alex (Paulette) Goodwin of Akron; daughters, Agnes (Rev. William) Brown of Montgomery, Ala., Helen Goodwin, Debra Lorraine Goodwin, Linda Morris, Harriette Lucy; brothers, Rueben (Bernice) and Rufus Johnson, all of Akron; sister, Margaret Shine of Cleveland, Ohio; sister-in-law, Hattie Johnson; companion of 46 years, Leon Roberts, both of Akron; 23 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2004, at 1 p.m., at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Ave., with Elder A. C. Walker officiating. Friends may call at the chapel from 12 noon until the time of service. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1741 Manchester Rd., 44314.
