Henry John "Butch" Buckingham, 56, died Dec. 9, 1998, of heart failure at his Keno home.

Mr. Buckingham was born in Butternut, Wisconsin to Henry and Clara Ann (Kerscher) Buckingham.

When he was 2 years old, he moved with his family to the Klamath Falls area and graduated from Henley High School in 1961.

He served in the Army from 1964 until 1966.

He married Mary Jo Amerling in Sacred Heart Catholic Church on May 18, 1968.

Mr. Buckingham worked in the logging industry for more than 30 years, including L. N. Jones Logging and, at the time of his death, Cascade Timeber Co.

He loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Buckingham of Keno; son, Ronald Buckingham and his best friend Sue Richmond of Medford; son and daughter-in-law, Brenda and Tim Clemens of Klamath Falls; grandson, Joshua Clemens of Klamath Falls; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Reva Buckingham of Keno and Keith and Jennifer Buckingham of Klamath Falls; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marion and Robert Smith of Grendada, Calif., and Kathy and Ken Leppert of Klamath Falls; parents-in-law, Gerald and Marybell Amerling of Klamath Falls; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces, including two very special nieces, Nicki and Kacy Buckingham.
