Born to Charles & Kathryn Woody, Dad was the 2nd son of 4 boys. He grew up in the rougher part of Indio, CA and fought his way into a better life. His love for his mother was remarkable though his relationship with his father was strained throughout most of his life. He first married Robin Eagle, which only lasted a few weeks, in Nov 1959 having a daughter Sheila (myself), prior to this married he and Robin had a son which was given up for adoption. This son (Bob Logan) was later found to be living 20 miles from where dad lived. In 1960 he then married Roberta Dunahugh and had a son Jack Jr. They divorced shortly after Jack was born. In 1965 he married Barbara Bagley together they raised both Sheila & Jack. He started in construction in his teens and worked his way up to superintendent in his field. He was a dedicated & loyal friend. In the early 90's he was diagnosed with cancer and basically lived with and controlled it for the better part of 22 years before succumbing to it. At the time of his passing he had 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Jack Woody, 69, of Desert Hot Springs, passed away on September 11, 2008. He was born in Phoenix, Ariz. on March 25, 1939. He was survived by his wife, Lindy: his daughter, Sheila Woody Herrera; and brothers Bill, Chuck, and Jim. Also numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, his golfing buddies and many friends. His first wife, Barbara, and his son, Jack, preceded him in death.
Memorial services were held on September 17, 2008, at the Weaver Mortuary in Beaumont. Private internment was at San Gorgonio Memorial Park in Banning.
