Merlyn B. Merry, age 80 of Richland Center, died on Monday, December 10, 2007 at the Golden Living Center in Muscoda.
He was born in Richland County to Bill and Ruby (Bender) Merry on June 25, 1927. On August 17, 1949 he married the former Wyvonne Fruit. He farmed on Ash Ridge in Richland County from 1945 to 1992. Merlyn served on the Richland County Board for 16 years and as chairman for 10 years and was a longtime 4-H Leader, Beef Producer, Young Farmer and Ash Ridge Baptist Church member. His greatest desire was to help young farmers and be of help to the community.
Survivors include his wife, Wyvonne Merry of Richland Center. Two sons: Rod (Sandy) Merry of Minneapolis, MN. Randy (Bonnie) Merry of Woodinville, WA. Grandchildren: Samantha Merry, Logan Merry, Jackie Merry, Taylor Merry and Ben Merry. Brothers & Sisters: Elmo Merry, Gordon Merry, Virginia McCauley and Jean Marshall. He was preceded in death by his brother Durward.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mary Jeffries officiating. Burial was held at the Ash Ridge Cemetery.
