Eleanor J. Schiavoni, 90, of Connellsville, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, in the Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown. She was born Nov. 11, 1911, in Point Breeze, Allegheny County, a daughter of the late Solomon and Margaret Brennen Rhodes. Eleanor was a longtime resident of Connellsville and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt to her family. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville, the Casey Girls and the C.D. of A. She is survived by her son, James D. Schiavoni and his wife, Antoinette, of Connellsville; her grandchildren, Vincent J. Schiavoni of Erie; James D. Schiavoni, Ph.D. and his wife, Mary Ann, of Madisonville, Tenn. and Jan Marie Szolis and her husband, Craig, of Valencia; her great-grandchildren, Andrew and Michael Schiavoni and Joseph Luckett; and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, D.J. Schiavoni, in 1984; her brothers, Kenneth, Thomas and David Rhodes and her sisters, Elizabeth Caliguire and Margaret Wolfe. Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception RC Church, Connellsville, with the Rev. Terry Hercik as celebrant. A committal service and interment will follow in St. Rita's Cemetery. The Casey Girls will conduct a service at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
