Mrs. Carl Olesen Passes Away Sat.
Mrs. Carl Olesen, lifetime resident of the Diamond Lake Community passed away in young womanhood Friday morning at the Tyler Hospital after an illness of six weeks. Mrs. Olesen was 34 years old.
Mette Christine Meyer was born in the Diamond Lake Community November 2, 1895, and grew to womanhood there, together with her two sisters and three brothers who with their mother, Mrs. S.M. Meyer, survive.
Baptized and confirmed in the Danish Lutheran Church, Mrs. Olesen was an active member in that body until her death.
On December 16, 1924, she was married to Carl Olesen, and two children came to bless the home. These two, Arlid age 3, and Margrete, age 1, together with their father mourn the death of their beloved mother and wife.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Diamond Lake church with Rev. Jensen Hansen and Rev. Alfred Jensen speaking words of comfort to the bereaved relatives and friends. Interment was made at the Diamond Lake cemetery.
