On June 13, 1936 Joe married Elsie Geneva Steen and she preceded him in death February 5, 1986. Joe was a printer by trade and at one time he and Elsie owned the Progressive Newspaper in Muscoda. Joe's hobby was woodworking.
Joe is survived by one son Joe (Ruth) Rut of Muscoda, three sister-in-laws, Mabel Steen, Della Honer, and Irma Rut all of Muscoda, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife Elsie, parents, two brothers Jim and Ladd (Violet) Rut.
A Mass of Christian Burial wwas held Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Muscoda with Father Rob Butz officiating. Burial was held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
Friends called at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Muscoda on Saturday, June 9, 2007 from 9:00 AM until the time of the mass at 11:00 AM.
The Godager Funeral Home of Muscoda assisted the family with their arrangements.
