Claude S. Williams, 76, R.R.9, Greensburg, died this morning at 12:30 a.m. at his residence.

Mr. Williams had lived in Greensburg since 1962 when he came here from Greenfield, where he worked for International Harvester in Indianapolis, retiring in 1971. He had spent several winters in Kissimmee, Fla.

He was born April 23, 1906 in West Newton, the son of Leander and Ada Carson Williams.

He was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church, the Keystone Sunday School Class, Masonic Lodge No. 707 of West Newton, and the Greensburg Lions Club.

His wife, Edell Williams, whom he married July 29, 1962, survives; with one son, Ed S. Williams, R.R.2, Greenfield; one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Arlene) Sparks, R.R.8, Greenfield; a step-son, Ivan Nading, Greensburg; six grandchildren; a twin brother, Clyde D. Williams, West Newton; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christina Williams; a step-son, Lloyd Nading; one brother, Ross Williams and two sisters: Rema Haulk and Margaret Jane Keesling.

The services will be conducted at 10 a.m Thursday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold Chattin officiating, and with burial in the West Newton Cemetery where there will be graveside rites at 12 noon. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday. The family requests that memorials be in the form of contributions to the heart fund.
