Mrs. Daniel (Mary V.) Schellinger, 83, RFD 5, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Michigan City following a two-month illness.
Born in Valparaiso Nov. 24, 1882, the daughter of William and Emma (Wheeler) Bentley, she was married on Nov. 20, 1906, in Valparaiso to Daniel Schellinger, who preceded her in death in August of 1962.
She was a lifetime resident of the area and a member of the First Christian church in Valparaiso.
Surviving are three sons, Ralph of Council Bluffs, Ia., Robert of Chesterton, and Jesse of Oakland, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Cuson and Mrs. Francis Spencer, both of Valparaiso, Mrs. Edward Reich, Neillsville, Wis., and Mrs. Carl Hedges, Michigan City; two sisters, Mrs. Clancy Hollett, Valparaiso, and Mrs. Frank Sexton, Inkum, Ida.; 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides the husband were one daughter, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Wetmore Funeral home with the Rev. Thomas E. Alston officiating. Burial will be in Kimball cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
