WILL MILBURN COE was born June 2, 1904, in Salt Lake City, UT. His first five years of school were in Vega, TX. He missed school in 1916 when the family homesteaded at Gallegos, NM. The closest school was at Bryantine, thirteen miles from the family ranch, too far for a boy of twelve to ride a horse. His first year of high school was at Bryantine; the only student in the class. In 1922 there was no school so Will and his mother moved to Ludlow, MO, where her parents were living.
Following high school he went to work in the signal department of the Milwaukee Railroad. From 1942 to 1969 he resided at Tama, IA, with responsibility for the signals between Perry and Marion, IA.
Making his home in later years at Sedona, AZ, an article in the Red Rock News referred to him as an inestimable gentleman. He was a member of the Oak Creek Gem & Mineral Society and the First Methodist Church of Ludlow. He died November 16, 1984, in Flagstaff, AZ.
He married February 20, 1929, in Kansas City, MO, Minnie Beatrice Rogers, born April 24, 1907, in Wise County, TX, died July 31, 2005, daughter of Robert Newton and Miriam Elizabeth (Gentry) Rogers. The Rogers family also homesteaded at Gallegos, NM.
