She was a long-time member of 1st Baptist Church of Mansfield and served as their organist for many years. She was also a member of Eastern Star and the Zonta Club. In her younger years, she was always knitting, and was a good seamstress as well. There was always a place at her table for a neighbor to drop in for a chat.
