Ina Catherine Fairless was born February 10, 1925, at Hardy, Nebraska, to Christin P. and Dagmar Olena (Feldt) Tordrup and passed away March 6, 1993, at her home in North Bend, Oregon, of the effects of rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 68 years and 25 days. She was raised and educated in the Hardy and Superior areas.
In 1941, she married Lewis Galbreth and a daughter, Charlotte, was born to them. In 1950, they moved to Washington state, where she was a homemaker and later worked for Boeing Aircraft. She was transferred to the plant in Moses Lake, Washington, and continued to work for them until the plant closed.
In 1955, Ina was married to James Fairless in Moses Lake, Washington. She worked for the Moses Lake newspaper for several years in the circulation department. In 1974, they moved to Kennewick, Washington, where James had employment at Hanford. In 1988 they moved to North Bend, Oregon, to be near their daughter and family. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Kennewick, Washington.
Preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers, Andrew, Carl and Gilbert Tordrup.
Survivors include her husband James; her daughter, Charlotte Cosgrove of Coos Bay, Oregon; grandchildren, Debbie and Chris Cosgrove; one great grandson, Nicholas; one brother, August Tordrup and his wife, Jeri, of Kenosha, Wisconsin; two sisters Ella Madison and her husband, Richard, of Portland, Oregon, Margaret Ann Hanson and her husband Burdette, of Superior, Nebraska; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 11, 1993, at 2 p.m. from Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Pastor Michael Osberg officiating. Music was provided by soloist, Carol Shambaugh, singing selections of "Footprints In The Sand" and "Abide With Me", with Carlita Price as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Burdette Hanson, Gary Tordrup, Dick Madison, August Tordup and James Richard Madison, Jr. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, near Superior. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
