MEIER, Marvin William
Of Sacramento. Born November 11, 1925 in Lodi after a long and valiant struggle with illness, entered into Eternal Rest on September 13, 2008. Marvin left behind the love of his life, LaVina, of 62 years. Father of Marie Mazza, Lee (Karen) Meier and Carol (Dan) Radman. Grandfather of Ed (Sus) Mazza, Tony (Christeen) Mazza, Chris (Katie) Meier and Kevin Meier. Great-grandfather of Madelyn Meier. Brother of Delmer (Carmen) Meier, Darlene Hale and the late Bob Meier. A native of Lodi. He served in the Army in WWII upon returning home he worked with his father in the family vineyards and dairy. He went on to own and operate a trucking business for 48 years retiring in 1990. He was one of the founding parents of the Florin Little League. He served on and was a former President for several terms of the Florin County Water District Board. He was a member of the Lucky Horseshoe Riding Club and enjoyed traveling with family and friends in the "Covered Wagoneers" RV group. Friends & family are respectfully invited to attend Memorial Services Wednesday, Sept 17th at 10:00 AM in the East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary Chapel, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove 916-732-2031. Inurnment will be in the East Lawn Elk Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Heart Assn. or favorite charity of your choice. There will be a reception following the services at the home of Dan & Carol Radman.
