LOVING, Mary Louise
On the evening of September 10, 2008, Mary Louise Loving of Gold River, CA, passed away peacefully. Born on June 29, 1916 in Garden City, Kansas to Harry and Ethel Elliott. She was the eldest of 6 siblings: the late Julia Bernice, Richard Elliott, Bruce Elliott, Ronald Elliott and George Elliott. Moved to Oakland, CA in her youth and later met her beloved husband of over 50 years, the late Colonel Walter Loving, Jr. Mary is survived by her two children Walter Loving, III, and Edith Lucas, daughter-in-law Ann Loving, son-in-law Gillem Lucas, grandchildren Scarlett and Lenox Loving, Robert, Edward and Kimberly Lucas, granddaughters-in-law Marla and Nicole Lucas, and her great-grandchildren Evan, Eden and James Lucas.
Mary was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed living life to the fullest while traveling and living all over the world during her husband's military career. She was a U.C. graduate, enjoyed a career with the California Farm Bureau and Mary retired from the University California at Davis Veterinary Medicine department. She was an avid reader, bridge player, cook and quintessential hostess to all of her friends and family. She was known for her grace, kindness, devotion and unselfishness. She will forever be in the hearts of all of her friends and loved ones.
Mary spent her lifetime helping others and devoted much of her time to the Children's Hospital Research Center in Oakland, CA. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations made to: Children's Hospital Research Center of Oakland, c/o Cacao Branch, 2201 Broadway Suite 600, Oakland, CA 94612.
In celebration of her life a luncheon will be held on September 28, 2008, 12:00 Noon at the Casa Garden Restaurant, 2760 Suttervile Rd., Sacramento, CA 95820.
