Man's death ruled case of suicide
The Jasper County coroner has ruled the Saturday death of a 37-year-old man in his Joplin home a case of suicide by hanging.
The body of Stephen R. Aldridge was discovered Saturday afternoon in the attic of his home at 402 N. Pearl Ave. by a friend, Lt. Brian Lewis, of the Joplin Police Department, said. A source close to Aldridge told police that he had been depressed, Lewis said. Coroner Jerry Neil said no autopsy was ordered.

∼ Steve had lots of friends. After his military service he worked as a Carpenter.

STEP-FATHER; HUSBAND OF MOTHER.
Sallie A. (Dean) Aldridge Pavka (January 26, 1952 ~ March 15, 2006)
Frank M. Pavka of Columbus, Kansas, formerly from Coldwater, passed away on October 7, 2016, after a lengthy illness.
He was a retired custodian for St. Mary's Catholic School in Joplin, Missouri.
He was born on November 28, 1941, to Frank and Mary (Balogh) Pavka.
He is survived by 2 brothers, John (Karen) of Peoria, Arizona, and Chris (Dianne) of Coldwater; his longtime companion Rosemary Pillar of Columbus, Kansas; and numerous cousins.
Frank was preceded in death by his second wife, Sallie; two brothers, Mike of Phoenix, Arizona, and Joe of Mescalero, New Mexico; his parents Frank and Mary; and one nephew, John Ruple.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on October 14, 2016, with a private burial at a later date.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his honor.
