Man's death ruled case of suicide

The Jasper County coroner has ruled the Saturday death of a 37-year-old man in his Joplin home a case of suicide by hanging.

The body of Stephen R. Aldridge was discovered Saturday afternoon in the attic of his home at 402 N. Pearl Ave. by a friend, Lt. Brian Lewis, of the Joplin Police Department, said. A source close to Aldridge told police that he had been depressed, Lewis said. Coroner Jerry Neil said no autopsy was ordered.

Loving father of Benjamin, Jackson and Anna Aldridge.

Your heart will ache no more, your eyes will shed no tears, angel in heaven with wings to soar. Never forgotten, have no fears.

May you rest in peace in Heaven, watching over your three children. You were loved more than you ever knew.

Your friends and family.
