Russ Kimber, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on September 13, 2008.


Russell was born on October 27, 1921 in Grouse Creek, Utah to Charles William Kimber and Agnes Malinda Jones Kimber. Russell was the fifth of five sons. He married Emma LuRae Cranney on April 21, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. LuRae and Russell are the parents of four children. Following the passing of LuRae, Russell married Gwen Nies on August 3, 1989. They later divorced. On August 24, 2002, Russell married Sharon Mower Madsen. Russ and Sharon have a special and loving relationship. Russell served in the Army with General Patton's Tank Corp. during World War II. His military service was a very important part of his life. Russell was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many positions and was high priest group leader at the time of his passing. Russell enjoyed the outdoors and the sight of big buck was a great joy to him. Russell always had horses and spent years in the Twin Star Riders, a riding club in Davis County.


Russell is survived by his wife, Sharon Kimber and his children: Duane Russell (Anita) Kimber, Jannie Lynne (Mark) Bjarnson, Mark C Kimber and Jed William Kimber; step-children, Wayne (Diana) Mower and Elayne (Jim) Jarman. Russell is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren. Through his marriage to Sharon, he acquired eight children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the Ray Madsen family whom he loved. Preceded in death by his wife, LuRae, his parents, and his four brothers, Eldred, Vaughn, Evan and Myron.


Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the Grouse Creek LDS Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street and on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Grouse Creek Church prior to services.
Interment-Farmington City Cemetery on Friday, September 19 at 10:00 a.m.
